This Watch

This watch which wraps itself

around that wrist

connected to that hand

which in turn

holds open that book

not written with these words, this ink, those thoughts

that seemed important and distinct

at that time

when that watch

was showing

some time

long ago

forgotten with

these words

read and unwritten

but conceived.

  1. your form here reminds me of the mouse’s tail (tale?) from alice’s adventures in wonderland. not trying to say it as a bad thing, i just can’t shake that image out of my head, haha~.

otherwise, beautiful poem. it has an air of “timelessness” to it (is that a pun? it wasn’t intentional)
