Plotting

Trust is a vice

a mild opiate

so one forgets

this world is a

gentle centrifuge

plotting its way

to resolving

its resolution

to regain

silence, solitude

and serenity.

  1. This is great KP. But should it be resolving…it’s revolution? Right now you have resolving, then resolution again. Resolving ,… it resolution also doesn’t make that much sense.

    • Thanks. I actually did somehow miss the ‘s’ on ‘it’ but I did correct that as for resolution and resolve.

Resolve – v. to come to a definite or earnest decision about; determine (to do something): I have resolved that I shall live to the full.
Resolution – n. a formal expression of opinion or intention made, usually after voting, by a formal organization, a legislature, a club, or other group. Compare concurrent resolution, joint resolution.

So I’m saying the world has made a decision to regain silence, solitude and serenity and is now in the process of being determined to live up to that decision. Obviously I’ve repeated the same word (in essence) to reiterate the notion of decision and determination. And of course for a sense of meter, wordplay and to bring about in one’s mind the idea of a resolution which is usually done at the new year when one realizes that they should be trying to go down a different path in life or some such notion. In this case the world itself wants to be alone (or left alone) even as we trust that all will work out for the best or better or at least, the world can’t possibly be against us.
