Back Pocket Book Entry 8

Why do the vessels complain-

filled with ink, wine or oil

all are useful-

the glassblower

and potter

made sure of this.

In ornate emptiness,

archeologists

dig and dig

to piece

together history

In reuse-

flowers find their

last days.

In raw lump-

unformed-

craftsmen dream

of rent paid,

children fed,

and shelves, drawers, table-tops

full of grace.
